The Precision bass set standards over 70 years ago. The second stroke of genius by radio tinkerer Leo Fender finally gave friends of low tones the opportunity to say goodbye to their unwieldy double basses with the first electric bass. With the Player series, the manufacturer had "pimped" his Mexico series some time ago and now presents us with a limited version with a so-called "Matching Black Cap". The rest of the look, due to an ebony fretboard and a single-layer pickguard in the corresponding colour, is also pleasing with its elegant black.
Thanks to the Alnico 5 split coil, which replaces the ceramic pickup of the standard series, the Player-Prezi is a bit more powerful in the basses and a bit more concise in the trebles. The difference is not extreme, but it should fit well with pushing, contemporary bass sounds.
As usual, the Precisions of the Player series offer high Fender quality both in sound and workmanship, and this model is no exception.
