If the Telecaster is the mother of all solid-body electric guitars, then the Precision bass is the father of all solid-body electric guitars. After its market launch, it quickly conquered the hearts of the strumming guild. The name was inspired by the precise intonation due to the guitar-like soundboards. It wasn't until almost 10 years later that the Preci was displaced as bass number one by its successor, the Fender Jazz Bass.
In 2020, Fender will launch the American Professional II series, which is considered the successor to the American Pro. The '63 neck with typical P-Bass profile has smoothed fretboard edges, a „Super Natural“satin finish and a reshaped neck heel for a äußerst comfortable playing feel and easy access to the upper registers. The latest V-Mod II Precision Bass split-coil pickup is more precise than ever, while delivering the punch and growl that the P-Bass is known for.
