The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 and soon overtook its predecessor, the highly successful Precision, as the most-played electric bass due to its variety of sounds, good playability and balanced ergonomics. The fretless version requires a slightly different playing style, but rewards the instrumentalist with a growly sound similar to the double bass. The unforgettable Jaco Pastorius (1987) is still considered one of the greats on the fretless Jazz Bass.2017 Fender introduces the American Professional Series, which is considered the successor to the Standard. The neck profile has been changed and newly developed "V-Mod Alnico" pickups do their job as pickups, the saddle is made of natural bone - Fender presents us with "more vintage" in line with general trends. The case is the same model that is also used for the Elite Series.
