The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 and soon outstripped its predecessor, the highly successful Precision, as the most-played electric bass due to its variety of sounds, good playability and balanced ergonomics. Marcus Miller, Stu Hamm and the unforgettable Jaco Pastorius (1987) are three of the greats who have used the J-Bass again and again, and even designed signature models according to their preferences.
In 2017, Fender introduced the American Professional Series, which is considered the successor to the Standard. The neck profile has been changed, the sides have become slimmer and the pickups are now newly developed V-Mod Alnico pickups, the saddle is made of natural bone - Fender presents us with a more vintage look.
The case is the same model that is also used for the Elite series.
