The American Professional series replaced the American Standard series in 2016 after more than three decades and made a number of small but useful changes. The bass is equipped with a HiMass bridge, which is supposed to conduct the string vibrations better due to its larger mass. The string guide through the body increases the pressure on the riders, which in our experience is very beneficial for a fast attack and long sustain. The tuning machines have also been changed; thanks to conical axles, the ones used in this instrument are lighter than their predecessors; the sometimes occurring problem with the top-heaviness of Fender basses is therefore eliminated here.
In conjunction with the graphite-reinforced neck with Narrow Tall frets and the V-Mod pickup, with an Alnico II coil for the E and A strings and an Alnico V coil for the D and G strings; The result is a round, gnarly sound that is not quite open in the highs, as is typical for Prezi, but is also far from muddy and shows why the P-Bass is so popular.
