Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass Sparkling Burgundy
Jack Casady should be a familiar name to many; the US-American co-founder and bassist of the bands Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, but also bassist for The Grateful Dead or Jimi Hendrix, has made music history. Early in his musical career he had found a short-scale semi-acoustic bass that he liked very much and in 1997 Epiphone released a first model of the Jack Casady signature bass.
The Casady has a humbucker, plus a volume control and a passive headstock. A special feature is the VariGain control, with which different capacitors can be connected to the pickup, so that different timbres become possible. The basic sound character remains the same: powerful, with a pronounced low-mid range, which gives the ability to assert oneself in the band.
Unlike most semi-acoustic bass guitars, the Casady has a 34-inch scale, plays like an electric bass and also brings out fine nuances in the playing well. This should make it an ideal instrument for all bassists who want to try out a semi-acoustic bass that combines a cool retro look with a thrilling sound that is very suitable for blues and rock.
