Since Rob Gallien impressed a certain Carlos Santana so much in his local music shop in 1968 with a self-made amplifier that he immediately bought it for his bass player and later took it to his gig at Woodstock, Gallien Krueger has made history in the amplification of the deep bass guild. In fact, Gallien contributed a lot to what seems to be self-evident in bass amplification today: first bass amplifier with contour control, first bass amplifier with DI output, first 1000 watt bass amplifier, etc.
The speakers of the Neo series are also distinguished by some well thought-out features, e.g. their stacking corners are shaped in such a way that safe stacking of several speakers is no problem, even with tilt-back function. The integrated tweeter can be controlled continuously by means of an attenuator, it is also possible to operate the speaker in bi-amping mode if the amplifier supports this function, i.e. the tweeter level can then already be controlled at the amp. Thanks to the tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet specially developed by Gallien Krueger, the Neo 112 sounds clear and brilliant even at high volumes and perfectly reproduces the low B-string of five- and multi-string basses, for example. Due to the low weight of just 23 kg, the speaker is easy to transport, but thanks to the vinyl cover, the rigid protective grille of the speaker and the solid plywood construction, it is absolutely suitable for the road and therefore an ideal speaker for all those who do not want to carry a heavy full stack and still want first-class sound.
