With its ultra-compact 800 watt design, the Ampeg PF-800 is ideal for bassists looking for uncompromising tone at high power. Connected to two Portaflex bass cabinets, the result is a vintage-style system that is extremely powerful and portable, and also delivers the typical Ampeg sound.
The 800 watts from the amplifier's Class D power amp produce a sound that is familiar from the big Ampeg tops, with plenty of warmth, detail and high assertiveness, which can be processed with the always efficient four-band tone control. The connection of active as well as passive Bäs is very well possible thanks to the possibility to attenuate the input by 15 dB. Furthermore, the user has a limiter, a compressor, an aux input and a headphone output as well as a balanced D.I. output and a volume-adjustable effects loop at his disposal. The overdrive section is also adjustable with both a gain and blend control. The amplifier comes in a metal housing and is also otherwise of high quality and sturdy workmanship, so it is suitable for the road.
