The Portaflex series from Ampeg is, as the name suggests, clearly based on flexible and transportable technology. The legendary Ampeg B-15 was the inspiration for the series. If you combine the PF-500 with one of the Portaflex cabinets, you can enjoy the congenial "Flip Top"-system: The amplifier is mounted on the top cover of the cabinet, which can then be removed and turned over for transport. In this state, the box is to a certain extent the protective case for amp and cable. The small amp delivers 500 watts from its Class D amplifier. This is also responsible for the low weight: the PF-500 weighs just 5 kg. A limiter, an FX loop and a balanced line out are built in. The tone control is clear and functional with bass, mid and treble controls. Compared to its little brother PF-350, the PF-500 additionally features the very popular Ampeg mid frequency selection. Five settings are available here. Practical: A compressor is part of the extensive equipment.
