Inspired by a Bo Diddley concert, Hartley Peavey wanted to become a rock musician, and the time seemed right in the late 1950s. Since he was already working in his father's music store and doing all kinds of crafts at vocational school, it was relatively easy for him to convert his acoustic guitar to an electric and build his first amplifier. Well, Hartley didn't become the next Buddy Holly, but fortunately we have over 50 years of Peavey tradition and innovation (Hartley holds over 180 patents) to thank for this twist of fate. Bass amps and cabinets have also been part of the traditional brand's range for decades, and MKIII, TNT, T-Max and other amps can be regarded as milestones along the way.
The Headliner 410 cabinet continues the path taken by Peavey. It is made of 18 mm thick plywood and has internal bracing to ensure not only a powerful sound but also roadability. The Sheffield ten-piece is also protected by a sturdy metal grille, the cabinet itself has a black carpet cover and sturdy corner protectors. The cabinet can easily handle 800 watts at 8 ohms and, together with the tweeter, produces a solid bass tone with a fast response for the price-conscious bass player. Peavey remains true to its credo: quality gear at a fair price.
