The PNB14E is a very short scaled instrument with a 629 mm parlor body. The body is made entirely of African mahogany, the neck of maple. Together with a laurel fingerboard, this results in a mid, sonorous tone that is authentically reproduced by the Fishman Sonicore pickup. The preamp is the Ibanez AEQ-2T, which adjusts the tone to any musical situation by means of a two-band tone control and also features a chromatic tuner. Thanks to the small size of the body, the bass is not very sensitive to feedback. The instrument comes with coated D’Addario EXPPBB190GS phosphor bronze strings, which were specially developed for short mesured acoustic basses.
