The Meinl Woodcraft Bongos, just like the Woodcraft Congas, are characterised by outstanding craftsmanship and traditional construction. Only selected materials are used for this instrument to achieve that typical loud, banging bongo sound. With the patented Meinl Free Ride System, the macho and hembra are no longer joined together with a wooden block in the middle, as is the case with other bongos, as this would impair the resonance of the instrument! With the system, both shells are firmly connected to the lower rim, which means that no holes have to be drilled in the shells. This allows for a freely resonating bongo cup.
