The Meinl FWB400 Free Ride wooden bongos are the preferred choice of many top percussionists. Exceptional sound characteristics, a wide range of colours and the excellent workmanship make these instruments the perfect partner. With the patented MEINL Free Ride System, the Macho and Hembra are no longer locked together with a wooden block in the middle, as is the case with other bongos, as this would impair the resonance of the instrument. With the system, both shells are firmly connected to the lower rim, which means that no holes have to be drilled in the shells. This allows for a freely resonating bongo shell.
